Squirrel sabotage!

Tue Jan 8, 2008, 9:41 PM
I go to a pretty big University, NCSU to be exact. Today at around 5:30, there was a massive campus-wide blackout. I was in my room at the time with a friend, being forced to listen to horrible musical attempts from next door. The loss of power stopped that, so I wasn't too upset. No one really knew what was going on tough and it was dinner time but everything was shut down. Some of the building were evacuated. Police and firetrucks raced to the scene because quite a few people were trapped in elevators at the time. We walked across campus to meet up with other friends and waited around for a bit. No change in the power situation.

Armed with a flashlight and a motley group of cell phones lighting the way, my friends and I traveled off campus for dinner. A lovely time was had by all and by the time we returned, power was back. We were a bit bummed, because if it ad stayed off, classes could have been canceled tomorrow. Oh well.

The cause of all this mayhem you might ask.... It turned out the culprit was a small squirrel. The critter got in the transformer and blew it out. Gotta love technology...

Skirts and Sculptures

Sat Mar 10, 2007, 9:06 PM
My goat skirt got airing out today when I hosted the 'Elvis' show at my school. I got volunteered last minute to do it. It was fun and Alex and Nick were there! How I've missed last year's seniors... I even got a hug from Alex. ^^

I finally took pictures of some of my sculptures and uploaded them. Sadly DA isn't very sculpturally oriented. o I'm not expecting any comments on them, though I'd sure appreciate some.

A bonus note, any one who loves me at all or loves RENT should click on this so I can get enough points for free RENT tickets. Make an account and you can save up too! Marks_Girl would like to invite you to become a member of Voices For RENT!

Ponies and Injuries...

Quiz bowl competition was today. It was a close match but the other team lucked out on bonuses and we lost. Without bonus points we would have tied. I got 10 points so State team isn't completely impossible. It still was a bit disappointing to be knocked out so soon.

On another note, I slammed my hand in the car door, smart one that I am. It hurts like heck and its quite a lovely shade of purple. I'm fairly certain my fingers aren't broken though. I want to freaking draw though and of course it was my right hand. >< I had a great concept in mind too.

Guess what?!

I got accepted into NCSU!!! On top of that I was invited to join the Honors program there. In a word I am ecstatic. I can't remember being this happy in a long time. My future being up in the air, especially after the calculus incident was not a fun experience. but now its over and I can relax somewhat. The lovely Raye and even though we don't talk any more Kris were such a big help during all this. I don't know if I would have survived admissions without you guys.

Bleh...I'm a bum. That's all there really is to it. You'd think me giving up something I was borderline obsessed with and ate up so much of my time would equate to more artwork. I've been trying, really I have. All my statistics work is covered in horse sketches. Horses make me sad though now...along with Queen oddly enough, and the fact my sketches aren't the best don't get me terribly motivated either.

Maybe I need to give up on the flatwork and go back to sculpture. At the very least I should get out the camera and take pictures of my latest work. Chances are it will take me a while though, for I'm just lame like that.
